Alison Cummings Named 2026 VAR REALTOR® of the Year
The Vermont Association of REALTORS® (VAR) has named Alison Cummings of Cummings & CO. the 2026 Vermont REALTOR® of the Year, recognizing her exceptional leadership, professionalism, service to the REALTOR® organization, and commitment to her community.
Alison, a member of Crown Point Board of REALTORS® (CPBR) and South Central Vermont Board of REALTORS® (SCVBR), has built an extensive record of service at the local, state, and national levels. Described by her colleagues as one of the association’s most active and dependable members, she is known for conducting her business with integrity and professionalism while promoting cooperation, fairness, and sound real estate practices.
“Alison embodies the qualities at the heart of the REALTOR® of the Year award, dedicated to service, strong leadership, professionalism, and a deep commitment to giving back,” said Sandy Reavill, who was the 2025 ROTY recipient and chair of this year’s VAR’s Awards Project Team. “She has dedicated countless hours to strengthening our profession, supporting her colleagues, and serving communities throughout Vermont.”
Alison’s REALTOR® leadership spans more than a decade. She served as president of the South Central Vermont Board of REALTORS® (SCVBR) in 2016 and went on to serve as president of the Vermont Association of REALTORS® in 2018. She previously served as a National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Director from 2020–2023 and currently represents Vermont’s small boards on the NAR Board of Directors. She is also a member of NAR’s Risk Awareness Committee and the Vermont Governance Work Group.
Her service also includes several years on VAR’s Government Affairs Committee, the NAR REALTOR® Party Participation Committee, and as a VAR REALTOR® Party Trustee. A longtime REALTOR® Party Major Investor, Alison has participated in NAR legislative meetings, national conventions, and VAR statewide conferences and events.
In 2025, Alison was appointed to a five-year term on the Vermont Real Estate Commission, where she serves as vice chair. She also served on VAR’s 2025 CEO Search Committee and currently serves as an at-large member of CPBR.
Alison’s commitment to service extends well beyond the REALTOR® organization. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, assisting with its resale store and local housing builds in Manchester; served as a Windham Lister from 2018–2023 and Windham Zoning Administrator from 2020–2023. She currently serves as a state ambassador for the REALTORS® Relief Foundation.
Alison previously received REALTOR® of the Year honors in 2018, when she was recognized by both SCVBR and VAR.
Alison will be honored during the 2026 VAR Annual Meeting, October 29–30 at Hotel Champlain in Burlington.
