Get Your Vermont Real Estate License
To become a REALTOR®, you must first earn your Vermont real estate license by completing a 40-hour pre-licensing course and passing the state and national exams.
Complete a 40-hour pre-licensing course
Take a Vermont-approved salesperson pre-licensing course.
Pass the national real estate exam
After completing your course, schedule and pass the national portion of the licensing exam through PSI here. Contact PSI to schedule and select the in-person location for your exam. (855) 746-8173
Apply for your Vermont license and take the state exam
The state exam is completed online as part of the license application. Get started here.
Affiliate with a Vermont brokerage
You must be affiliated with a Vermont-licensed principal broker/office.
Complete post-licensure education
New salespersons must complete 8 hours of post-licensure education approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission
Join a Local REALTOR® Association
Once you have your real estate license, the next step is to join a local REALTOR® association in Vermont. Your broker can help you determine which local association their office is affiliate with.
