We’re bringing back the crowd favorite Battle of the Barristers, where some of Vermont’s top real estate attorneys square off to tackle today’s hottest legal topics. Meet our 2026 Hoopla Barristers
Lisa Gale – Gale Legal Group PLLC
Lisa is the Sole Member/Senior Attorney at Gale Legal Group and has been practicing law in Vermont for 30 years. She has owned her own firm for many years, and works to create ongoing relationships with her clients and their families Lisa focuses her practice on the needed legal services in real estate, business, law, estate planning, and probate administration.
Benjamin Putnam, Esq. – Putnam & Menard
Benj values the diversity of rural law practice, handling a wide range of legal matters for businesses and individuals. His work includes real estate and business transactions, dispute resolution, estate planning, and land use. After studying in California and Texas and gaining international experience, he returned to Vermont, clerked for Chief Judge William K. Sessions III, and now serves clients across Addison County and statewide.
Kevin Shortell – Peet Law Group
Kevin J. Shortell is an owner and managing director of Peet Law Group. A University of Vermont graduate, he earned his law degree from Boston University, receiving an award in estate planning. He clerked in Chittenden Probate Court and practiced with Morwood & Morwood, focusing on real estate and probate. Since 2007, Kevin has continued his real estate practice and lives in South Burlington, Vermont.
