April is Fair Housing Month
Fair housing impacts all NAR members, all markets, and all neighborhoods.
April is Fair Housing Month, a time to recognize the importance of equal access to housing and to reaffirm our commitment to fairness, inclusion, and opportunity for all. It commemorates the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968, landmark legislation that prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, and familial status.
For REALTORS®, Fair Housing is not just a legal requirement, it is a core professional responsibility and an essential part of serving clients with integrity. Every interaction, from marketing and showings to negotiations and transactions, should reflect a commitment to equal treatment and access to homeownership and housing opportunities.
Throughout April, we are providing resources, education, and tools to help members strengthen their knowledge, promote fair housing principles, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This page serves as your hub for training opportunities, educational materials, consumer outreach content, and guidance you can use in your daily practice.
Together, we can help expand housing opportunities, build stronger communities, and uphold the promise of Fair Housing for everyone.
