VR Names Jess Peck as Its 2017 Good Neighbor

Jess Peck has been named the Vermont Realtors® 2017 Good Neighbor. VR’s Good Neighbor Award recognizes a Realtor® member for extraordinary community service.

Jess is a Managing Broker for RE/MAX North Professionals in Colchester, VT. She is a member of the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors® (NVBR).

“Jess is an incredibly giving person,” said Kathleen Sweeten, CEO for NVBR. “This past winter, she anonymously placed hand-made scarves around Burlington as a random act of kindness.”

Each scarf had a tag that said, “I am not lost. I was handmade for you. If you are cold and need me, please take me.” Jess was eventually named the “scarf fairy” for her random acts of kindness. Her generosity made local and national news. (See local coverage here. See national coverage here.)

Jess has also volunteered at the Vermont Children’s Hospital at UVM Medical Center, helping children, their siblings and parents through the challenges of a hospital stay by playing games, staying with children while their parents take a break, and cleaning their play areas. She is a volunteer at the Lund Center, Vermont’s oldest and largest full-spectrum adoption agency. She has also participated in the Children’s Miracle Network.

Jess serves on the Board of Directors for NVBR and is a member of the board’s Community Service Committee.
